A project that studied different kinds of running, to differ between their needs in a running application. 3 concepts were proposed based on our user studies and research, whereas justRUN was the concept that got prototyped with an accelerator connected to an Arduino and Spotify.
The prototype worked by using a bit of Wizard of Oz, so that we could control the test environment. justRUN was not stable enough to run on it's own, but was stable enough to be tested by several runners on treadmills. It gave an insight in how music affected the individual runner, but also surprisingly that the feel of the music mattered more or at least just as much as the BPM and running pace. There was not always an obvious correlation between the actual pace of the songs we played and how the user perceived the speed of the song.
